Professional Engineering
Becoming a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada comes down to a few key milestones: confirming your knowledge, documenting your experience, and passing the NPPE. We prepare you for all three — with programs built and taught by licensed Canadian engineers.

What it takes to become a P.Eng.
The Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation is your licence to practise engineering in Canada. Earning it means meeting an academic requirement, documenting qualifying experience, and passing the exams your regulator requires.
That’s three very different challenges — and we prepare you for each: the Technical Examinations that confirm your knowledge, the Competency-Based Assessment that documents your experience, and the NPPE that tests professional practice.

Everything you need for your
P.Eng., in one place
Pick the milestone in front of you. Most candidates work through more than one — and we can help you sequence them.
Technical Exams
Confirm your engineering knowledge by discipline.
Discipline-specific prep for Civil, Mechanical & Electrical — Group A, Group B and Complementary Studies, mapped to the official syllabus and taught by licensed engineers.
NPPE Exam Prep
Professional practice — ethics, law & liability.
The National Professional Practice Exam covers professional ethics, law, regulation and liability. Our course turns unfamiliar material into a clear, confident system — with mock exams and full rationale.
CBA Writing Workshop
Turn your work history into an approved assessment.
The Competency-Based Assessment (CBA) is how you document your experience for licensure. Our workshop helps you write clear, evidence-backed competency examples reviewers accept — where many applicants get stuck.
Three milestones on the road to P.Eng.
Your regulator’s assessment tells you which apply to you. Here’s how the three fit together — and where each program helps.
Confirm your knowledge
If assigned, the Technical Examinations demonstrate engineering knowledge equivalent to an accredited Canadian degree — organised by discipline.
- Civil, Mechanical & Electrical
- Group A, Group B & Complementary Studies
- Most common for internationally trained engineers
Document your experience
The Competency-Based Assessment is how you prove your engineering work experience — in writing, against the competencies reviewers score.
- Written to the scored competencies
- Evidence-backed, reviewer-ready examples
- Where our CBA Writing Workshop helps
Prove your practice
The NPPE tests professional practice — ethics, law, regulation and liability. For most applicants it's the final step before licensure.
- Ethics, law, professionalism & liability
- Required in most provinces
- Usually the last milestone

Good to know
Which do I need — Technical Exams, NPPE, or the CBA Workshop?
It depends on your regulator’s assessment. Almost everyone writes the NPPE; Technical Exams are assigned case-by-case, most often to internationally trained engineers; and every applicant documents experience through a Competency-Based Assessment. Send us your file and we’ll map exactly what you need.
What is the CBA Writing Workshop?
The Competency-Based Assessment (CBA) is how you document your engineering work experience for licensure. Our workshop helps you write clear, evidence-backed competency examples that reviewers accept — a common stumbling block for applicants.
Are the programs online?
Yes — all three are delivered online with self-paced materials and scheduled live instruction and Q&A, so you can prepare from anywhere in Canada.
Is there a pass guarantee?
Select programs include a retake-support policy — complete the course and, if you don’t pass, re-enroll at no extra cost. Look for the guarantee badge on eligible courses.
